During the meeting, Dr. Onoja was formally decorated as Patron of the Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria and AACT Ambassador for the 2026 championship. He was presented with an award of appreciation and decorated with the Associationβs branded hat and muffler in recognition of his distinguished standing and support for national development initiatives and his outstanding contributions to women’s sports development.
Dr. Onoja graciously accepted the award and expressed his appreciation to the leadership and members of the Association for the honour. He noted that he is also a golfer who loves the game and understands the value of sports in promoting unity, discipline and national pride. He warmly celebrated Nigeriaβs achievement in securing the hosting rights for the 2026 All Africa Challenge Trophy and commended the Association for its commitment and hard work. He pledged his full support as Patron and Ambassador and assured the Association of his readiness to contribute his quota toward the successful hosting of the championship.
Also present at the meeting were Dr. Jumai Ahmadu, Elder Peter Idenyi Esq. and Hon. Isaac E. Ekpa, who joined in reaffirming their collective commitment to the growth of womenβs golf and the successful hosting of the 2026 championship.
